Situation
When meeting to discuss Merrimack Business Appraisers, Lou shared that his business partner had retired and he was looking to grow the business. He had capacity and had developed a large network of accountants, financial advisors, attorneys, and other referral sources who would refer business to him when a business valuation was needed.
Solution
Over the years, For Marketing Matters has expanded, managed and hosted the website, tracking inbound website visits from every state in the county and across many countries throughout the world. Case studies have been written to clearly and succinctly present common reasons for a business valuation as have articles to position Lou as a thought leader and expert in his field, with certifications and a track record that can be matched by very few.
Impact Delivered
Lou is an impressive man, a wonderful client and an intelligent man. However, in the early phase of executing the marketing plan and reviewing FMM’s custom Marketing Impact Reports, Lou would express his frustration. “What am I looking at? What do these metrics mean?” Mary, Cary and Bob would walk Lou through our respective areas of expertise with Cary explaining the social media metrics and which numbers reflect growth in awareness (getting his brand out there) and engagement (what content we were posting that our target audience was interested in); Bob reviewing web stats including key terms that were performing well for SEO and highlighting ongoing growth month over month and year over year. I would ‘draw the duck’, connecting the dots of our marketing efforts and how we then tracked impact in our monthly reports.
Then something clicked. Lou was seeing the impact: he was receiving calls from all over the country; callers were sharing they had done an online search and found his website. Others would be referred by a professional in Lou’s network, but they would still check him out online and his online presence was strong, clear and compelling.
Today, Lou has more business than he needs. He can selectively choose the work that he enjoys most. He credits For Marketing Matters with achieving this level of interest in his business and affording him the ability to choose.
Merrimack Business Appraisers has been working with Mary Honan at For Marketing Matters for over six years now. In that time, our business has grown substantially due to Mary’s involvement in developing and executing our marketing materials and strategy. Of course, Mary and her team are easy to work with, but the real test is their programs work for my business. I highly recommend any business owner to have a conversation with Mary about what she can do for them.
